I must say I loved Allison in the last American Idol, she has such a strong amazing voice.  Remember her rendition of Gwen Stefani's "Don't Speak"?  Awesome!  I also liked her individual style- she rocks that wild red hair and the "Rockera" style.
For those of you who don't know,  the Salvadoreña also won the Telemundo reality showQuinceañera, where she sang in both English and Spanish.
Her first Cd called "Just like you" is out tomorrow (Dec. 1).  Wish you the best Allison!

Oribe's 24 karat gold pomade review

Want to know how to get that Jeniffer Lopez like glossy, slicked back look with golden highlights? 

Well, her hairdresser Cubano Oribe has created a product that gives you that look.  It's called 24 karat pomade.  I just tried this product on a brunette and it worked great!  Trick is- you want to make sure not to apply too much at once.  Also, I used it on damp hair so you want to make sure that you use a comb or brush to make sure that it is all separated nicely.  **one tip-- I LOVED it brushed on the eyebrows-- Looks great but make sure that you keep it away from your eyes.

Jennifer Lopez falls at the AMA's

 

Jennifer Lopez performed her new single "Louboutins" from her upcoming album on Sunday at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles.  The big buzz about her performance was the fact that she fell while jumping off of her dancers.   She did tell Ryan Seacrest on Monday that the fall was "planned".   If anything, she picked up and performed like a trooper.
Well, I thought her makeup looked awesome :)  Very few can carry that severe pulled back hair and look as pretty as she does.

Victoria's Secret show-Backstage beauty video

See what Laurent Philippon (hair) and Tom Pechaux (makeup) tell us about the look at the latest Victoria Secret Fashion show which was filmed in NYC Nov. 19, 2009. 

The official show airs December 3 at 10pm est on CBS.  And no, you don't get to see Heidi Klum on the runway this time-since she just had another baby-she'll just host it.

Latina models I love! Arlenis Sosa

Ok, we are talking "Supermodel" here now.  Arlenis is a Dominican model  who is only been modeling since 2008.  Since then, she's appeared in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, ID, Elle and even the cover of Time magazine!  She has done countless advertisements and most major runway shows.
In 2008 she achieved a Cosmetics contract with Lancome, which is a huge deal only reserved for a select and elite group of models in the world. Her features are gorgeous- great lips, great skin and need I say the perfect shaped eyebrows!
Also in 2009 she was honored with a "Latin Pride" award.
All this for a girl who didn't even speak proper English when she started modeling.  She is known in the industry to have one the best attitudes around.  Watch the video that I've attached at the bottom of this posting, it's Lancome's introduction of her... You get to see her great personality!!

Christina Aguilera's new "Blondie inspired" short haircut

Free of extensions! Christina shows her new haircut Nov. 10 in LA.  And love her glam red lips, eyeliner and tough girl leather... She's also just started filming her first movie called "Burlesque"!    I like this new haircut and has a very nice way of framing her face and it reminds me of one of my favorite beauty icons, Debbie Harry from "Blondie."

Bomba Estereo is "the bomb"!

 

 

I'm a big fan of Liliana and Simon from "Bomba Estereo"  This Colombian band's mix of "cumbias" and electro hip-hop is sooo cool!!  They're touring the West coast in November (playing "The Echo" in LA Nov 13, 2009--I'm there!) 

The (not so good) makeup and hair at the 2009 latin grammy's-

One thing, I've been there getting ladies like these ready for award shows... Sometimes, you have 15 minutes to do hair and makeup, bad hotel lighting, tons of people distracting them,etc,etc... So these comments are just my (educated) opinions... Enjoy and let me know what you think

MISSED IT:

Natalia Lafourcade- The hair looks she just piled it on top of her head-  and is she wearing any makeup?  Pretty girl but just too bare!!

Cucu Diamantes.  Her look was a little more "editorial" and best left for a magazine than for the red carpet.   The neclace/strong shoulder combined with her sharp hairstyle looks very severe. The makeup doesn't do her justice.

Lucero- Nice look but it all seems soo brown and monotone..also her skin would have looked a lot better with more glow to it.   Softer eyebrows would also make her look younger and more modern.

Alejandra Espinoza- Makeup seems too severe with her hair pulled back, hair down and flowy would have made it all look more modern

Giselle Blondet-  Red eyeshadow to match the dress?  Makes her eyes look tired- she looked beautiful otherwise in that red gown.

Dulce Maria- Those fake eyelashes are a too big for her eyes and should have been trimmed in the inner corners.  Also that blue line under her eyes seems too thick...

Lilia Luciano- beautiful, glamorous eyes like this need eyebrows that have a little more shape to them

Alejandra Guzman-- We know what she's been through lately but the overall nude face look makes her look too pale.  A little dab of color on her lips would have been great

Laura Pasini...I know-she's going for a strong, punk look but the dark hair with the middle part?  Even a side part would have made the look cooler.  Eyeshadow needs a little blending...
